In this Healio video exclusive, Mark A. Molos, MD, of WestGlen Gastrointestinal Consultants in Shawnee, Kansas, discusses his experience with the GI OnDEMAND genetic testing program from Ambry Genetics.

According to Molos, the program helped fulfill an unmet need in his practice: Since incorporating genetic testing, he has been able to successfully identify several patients with a range of hereditary GI cancer syndromes.

“The bottom line is it changes patient management,” Molos said. “It not only changes the patient management but also how the family of the patient gets managed. It extends beyond the patient. It has widespread implications and it’s a practice builder too. Patients who get screened positively bring their families in for testing. We’ve had a great experience with it.”
